David Beckham and fashion have always gone hand and hand. In many ways he has set the pop culture bar for other European football stars turned fashion icons like Cristiano Ronaldo and Didier Drogba. David Beckham has had worldwide appeal long before he set his sights on Hollywood. In a new video feature with one of our favorite publications, Hypebeast, Beckham talks becoming a worldwide icon and ultimately moving to Los Angeles.

Kicking off the first part to our David Beckham: Journey to L.A. video series, we speak with the global icon about his early days playing for one of the world’s most impressive clubs in the world, Manchester United. Some of the highlights include his insights on fashion and the feeling of playing for the Red Devils.

“In a lot of ways, this is the antithesis of the modern ski porn flick. A lot of rock star skiers and not much skiing! Ha! Well, hopefully having a narrative helps the piece along. It was a tough piece to put together with all the different characters. I decided to focus the story on Sage and Lucas and was hoping the piece would give people a sense of who those two characters are besides being rock star skiers/snowboarders. I often feel like the whole process of skiing and who the skiers actually are gets lost in most of the films today.” ~jimmy chin

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation are teaming with Barcelona FC to cure Polio. The current La Liga and European Champions are combining forces with one of the world’s most generous philanthropists to finally put an end to Polio. Today is World Polio Day, Gates’ has been working tirelessly to fully eradicate it across the globe. While populations throughout the western world have been removed from such concerns there are still new cases every year in developing countries which could come to an end thanks to these efforts.

In the latest video from The More Than a Goal campaign Bill actually dawns the iconic navy and burgundy stripes. The Gates Foundation site has an enormous amount of great information which includes further instructions for how to participate in such a worthy cause.

With a nice mix of yesterday’s and today’s footy stars, Illustrator Stanley Chow presents Soccer Prints. Football has produced many different amazingly talented personalities over the years. Featuring the former greats of the Premiership like Manchester United’s Eric Cantona or Arsenal’s Thierry Henry battling against La Liga’s headbutting Zinedine Zidane. The two best players of today and possibly of all-time are obviously included, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo go head to head once again. Stanley Chow’s prints are available at Big Cartel.

For someone who has snowboarded for 16 years, managed a retail store as well as worked all throughout the industry, I really don’t a lot of snowboard stuff. It’s really a distant passion for me, after hip hop, fashion, photography even surfing. Anyways here is a trailer for the new Burton film.
