The fourth quarter of 2011 has really been the most epic time in recent memory for the video game industry. The past few months leading into the Christmas season has seen the release of Gears of War, Forza, Battlefield, Call of Duty, Uncharted and of course Batman’s Arkham. With all the amazing titles out right now, competition is at a height it has never been before.

The popular Assassins Creed series is ready to jump into the battle. Here is the much anticipated launch trailer for Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. The makers at Ubisoft in Montreal have done an amazing job with these games, fans have really taken to them on multiple levels. There is even talk of a coming big budget film. Preview the trailer for a detailed look into the game, which will be available on most platforms and is set to release on November 15.

It looks like Grand Theft Auto V will take place in modern day Los Santos. For the fifth installment in the game-changing Grand Theft Auto series, the experience moves to the open world of Los Santos. In previous editions the game has depicted New York with Liberty City and then Miami with Vice City and finally the heat of Nevada and Arizona with San Andreas. You may be familiar with Los Santos as it appeared in the San Andreas game as a representation of the City of Angles. There are few titles that attract this type of attention and anticipation is surely only going to build leading up to it’s timely release.

With today’s much anticipated release of the epic Battlefield 3, we present to you the official launch trailer. Winning over 60 industry awards, the third installment in the Battlefield series features new single-player gameplay which is unmatched. The launch trailer gives you a preview of the intense single player campaign. Developed by Naughty Dog, UNCHARTED 3 is the next game in the critically acclaimed UNCHARTED series, exclusively for the PS3 system. UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception will be released on November 1, 2011 in North America and November 2011 in the rest of the world.

Batman: Arkham City will be available tomorrow. To help prepare you for the intense melee combat, sprawling cityscape and dangerous encounters in Arkham City, we present the new Batman: Arkham City launch trailer featuring some of Gotham’s greatest villains. Mr. Freeze, Hugo Strange, Two-Face, Penguin and The Joker are just some of the adversaries who are out to stop the Dark Knight in this hotly-anticipated release. Batman: Arkham City will be available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Battlefield goes boom! Ultimate destruction is the goal in the upcoming third installment of EA’s Battlefield series. Any game that is going to be in direct competition with the Call of Duty series needs to bring their absolute “A” game. A spot that Battlefield 3 is positioned to be in. An edge that hardcore gamers are already pinpointing may ultimately prove to be the sheer and seemingly unlimited environment destruction provided by the Battlefield franchise – something long lacking by some in the Call of Duty games.

The brand new, Michael Bay-esque Battlefield 3 Destruction trailer shows off the pure and utter destruction possible in the title. Compiling lots of footage – some of which has been seen before – the trailer showcases the carnage available in the new release. Battlefield 3 is available on Xbox 360 and Playstation3, October 25.

As good as games like Gears of War, Uncharted and even the Batman games have been, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare titles have proved to be king. The explosive third chapter of the blockbuster first-person action series set in near-future combat scenarios. The multi-player have determined to be the most tantalizing and time-consuming components to the franchise but it is the single player campaign that gets the focus this go around.

Host of Top Gear – the popular BBC TV show – Jeremy Clarkson narrates this short film live action trailer for Forza Motorsport 4 titled “Endangered Species.” The film provides the narration for a tongue-in-cheek illustration of something many car lovers already know: that the real world is becoming an unfriendly place for those who truly love automobiles. Taking place in the middle of a claustrophobic metropolis, the short film features edge-of-your-seat driving by world renowned stunt driver Martin Ivanov, whose credits include the The Bourne Supremacy and Quantum of Solace.

Forza Motorsport 4 attempts to ease all the concerns of modern car enthusiasts. With increasing environmental regulations, clogged motorways, safety restrictions and traffic cameras, the world of car enthusiasts is shrinking, its celebration more rare. Forza Motorsport 4 is available exclusively on Xbox 360 on Oct. 11. It provides a safe haven for car lovers and adrenaline seekers to challenge modern conventions and keep the fire of our car culture burning.

Since it was announced that the second edition of the of the Batman: Arkham series was going to be more than simply a sequel within the same asylum environment. The second game was in fact going to expand into to the entire open world of Arkham City. The latest trailer shows us how the Dark Knight moves around at night.

The game has more than just the gaming industry in collective standstill til it’s October 18 release date. It seems that the first game was received so well that the second has established an almost pop culture type essence. Included is the Joker trailer for good measure.
