When I came up for the basic concept of this site, I had just moved to a new city. I had just been at a Fashion/Hip Hop show at a high end downtown club. I was blitzed, and with my girl at the time. The recession was near the bottom and Obama had the world’s attention. It struck me that the world was transforming and the youth were really beginning to take charge of it. Today seemed like it had come or was on the brink of becoming significantly different than it had been in the past. Now it may not have come true, but that was the feeling. That was the reason.
The Today Experience is a vision of the world through my and my partners eyes. It is a hip hop inspired, fashion conscious, politically engaged website that goes to inform the youth about Today and it’s culture.
I am a University student with a diploma in Marketing and currently working on a degree in Communications. I started listening to hip hop in 95. I fell in love. I did my homework and bought almost every album that came before that. I learned it. I bought almost every album since too. Until I bought a decent computer and an iPod. Desktop to start. I ran my own personal hip hop blog, they started sending me music. Then we created this site. Now I have a couple of laptops and a network, a growing network. A growing network with your help. It’s good, but we are only as good as the people following it.
We enjoy doing this. We enjoy bringing the real to people, looking for a fresh point of view.
